SEZ Technopolis Moscow joined the World Organization of Free Zones

Russian special economic zone has gained a status of a member of World FZO, declared Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for economic policy and property and land relations. World Free Zones Organization is the only organization in the world which gathers free zones, industrial parks and special zones of the whole world. It was founded in Switzerland in 2014 and now is based in the free zone of Dubai airport. The purpose of the organization is to assist investors when they chose investment platforms around the world as well as to support the instrument through experience and knowledge exchange among the organization participants. “Today World FZO comprises over 50 thousand companies from 126 countries. It is the first time that a Russian special economic zone has joined the organization and will have the right to vote at the annual meeting of General Assembly of World FZO and will represent there the interests of Moscow and the country. In addition to tax and customs exemptions the status will allow the tenants of SEZ Technopolis Moscow to increase export and attract investors from other countries for the implementation of Russian projects”, clarified Vice-Mayor.  Entering World FZO is a crucial step, pointed out Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of investment and industrial policy of Moscow. SEZ Technopolis Moscow has become the second representative of Russia in World FZO after the Federal agency for administration of special economic zones. Such interaction and support to the enterprises in their search for investors from different countries is particularly important today in the context of industry recovery after the pandemic and restriction regime”, he added.
