The company from the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow Sport Weapon Custom has developed a new line of civilian sporting and hunting weapons, in which imported parts account for no more than 12%. It is planned that the development will go into serial production by the end of 2023. This was reported by Vladislav Ovchinsky, the Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, which is part of the complex of economic policy and property and land relations of the capital. The enterprise designs and produces innovative weapon systems and cartridges, researches and develops new solutions and samples of components for weapon tuning. Its product range includes in-house designed pistols and carbines based on some of the most popular weapon platforms in the world - AR-15, AR-10, Colt. The samples of these weapons are distinguished by their accuracy and close-range shooting. The new weapons are intended for Russian sportsmen and hunters. The company's state-of-the-art production, located at the Pechatniki site in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, is almost fully automated, and manual labor is used in the finishing and final assembly of products. Preliminary 3D computer modeling is used in the design of each weapon element, which makes it possible to achieve high quality products, their reliability and operability. In 2022 the company's production volume and the number of domestic orders increased by 68 percent. This is facilitated not only by the high demand for import-substituting weapons products, but also by the broad development opportunities created in the special economic zone, which contribute to the active growth of the technology company, said Vladislav Ovchinsky. The company's new product line consists of five products, including semi-automatic carbines for hunting, sport and service pistols. The Moscow-based manufacturer of innovative weapons products has been operating on the territory of the SEZ since 2017 and occupies about 960 square meters. The company uses a small amount of imported parts - 12% - when producing new weapons, and soon plans to completely switch to domestically produced products, applying its own solutions for the manufacture of the receiver, firing mechanism, trigger guard and bolt. We are planning to launch mass production this year, said Gennady Degtev, General Director of Technopolis Moscow. The company's own technological solutions, including the location of the cocking handle on the left side of the receiver (Upper), which is extremely convenient for right-handed people, allow the rifles to work quickly and comfortably, and the owners to perform the maximum number of operations without changing hands. The customization of production turns the carbines into a real constructor, which can be sharpened to the owner both at the stage of its creation and by means of various kinds of tuning. Thanks to our modern technological facilities, we not only produce all the basic weapon elements, but we can also repair both our own weapon samples and any other models, up to foreign ones.
