A company from SEZ Technopolis Moscow has developed a compact system for performing express analyses outside laboratories. The device performs testing on 19 indicators and helps to diagnose diabetes, diseases of the cardiovascular system, thyroid and prostate, infertility, as well as to determine pregnancy and various inflammatory processes in the body. This was announced by Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. "Scientists of the company Imbian Lab from SEZ Technopolis Moscow together with military specialists have developed a technology for rapid analysis. The device consists of a compact device and test systems resembling in appearance ordinary strips for determining blood sugar levels. The device can be used in civil and military hospitals, polyclinics, mobile and stationary diagnostic laboratories," noted Vladislav Ovchinsky. Each analysis has its own test system. A biomaterial is applied to the desired type of cartridge, which needs to be studied and which can provide information about the patient's health status. It can be saliva, urine, blood from a finger or from a vein. Then the cartridge is inserted into the device. The analyzer reads the fluorescent label of the test and, depending on the composition of the biomaterial, signals the presence of a particular problem in the patient's body. According to the developers, the fluorescence method is good because it allows not only to answer questions about the state of human health in the yes / no format (pregnant / not pregnant, there are antibodies / no antibodies), but also to show the amount of hormones or viruses, which, in turn, allows the doctor to prescribe the optimal course of treatment. For example, in diseases of the thyroid gland, it is impossible to conduct an analysis in the yes/no format. The system determines the amount of thyroid hormones in the blood. Excess of the norm indicates one disease, indicators below the norm indicate another. The test systems developed by the capital company are highly sensitive and allow you to get the same accurate results as with complex long-term laboratory tests. At the same time, with the help of a new compact device, it is possible to carry out so-called "bedside diagnostics", that is, to conduct tests at the patient, and not in the laboratory. It takes much less time: doctors can get the results of such a study in 15-20 minutes and urgently help the patient if necessary. The device is a joint development of Imbian Lab and Military Technopolis ERA. They agreed to cooperate at the Army-2021 exhibition in August last year, said Veronika Osipova, General Director of Imbian Lab. "In April of this year, the device was already presented at the innovation Day of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and received a diploma for the Best Innovative Project. The device and tests for it will be put into mass production in 2023," the head of the enterprise said. As noted in the SEZ Technopolis Moscow, similar devices are used in world practice, helping to conduct a quick diagnosis on the spot. The Russian development complies with international standards, but is almost 20 percent cheaper compared to its foreign counterparts. The device in the first version, which has already been created, is intended for physicians. But the second version is also being prepared, it will be convenient for home use. The size of the device will make no more than a mobile phone. With its help, for example, patients with cardiovascular diseases will be able to monitor their condition based on cardiomarker indicators and call for help in time to prevent a heart attack or stroke. Imbian Lab is located at the Alabushevo site of the capital's special economic zone in one of the innovative laboratory and industrial buildings. "The total area of the enterprise is 2.5 thousand square meters. There are spaces there, including for the laboratory, production and labeling of products. In general, about 50 types of diagnostic systems will be produced at the SEZ site, with the help of which a large number of infections and abnormalities in the human body can be detected. Currently, the sales department is actively working, production facilities are being prepared, equipment is being imported.
