SEZ Technopolis Moscow entered the top three among the special economic zones of technology-innovative type according to the results of the IV National Rating of Investment Attractiveness of SEZs of Russia 2019. The leaders of the rating this year are also SEZ Dubna and SEZ Saint-Petersburg. The National Rating of Special Economic Zones of Russia assesses the zones by areas of activity: technology-innovative, industrial production and port. “Experts appreciated the high investment attractiveness of the capital's special economic zone, infrastructure and land resources. At the end of last year, the volume of investments by residents amounted to 6.6 billion rubles, and about 800 new jobs were created, which is 2.5 times more than a year earlier. It should be noted that the rating separately considered the investment attractiveness of the region, according to this criteria, Technopolis Moscow is traditionally among the leaders. Compared to the previous period, the SEZ also saw an increase in the provision of infrastructure, land resources, investment and innovation activity, as well as the favorable conditions for business activity”, pointed out Vladimir Efimov. Last year, SEZ Technopolis Moscow exceeded its target for attracting new residents by 12%, said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. “In 2019, 24 companies received the status of a resident of special economic zone Technopolis Moscow, which is three times more than a year earlier. The total volume of their declared investments reached 15 billion rubles, of which 3.24 billion rubles have already been invested. In total, at the end of 2019, 67 residents were registered in SEZ Technopolis Moscow, which is 12% higher than the planned figure. According to the results of 11 months, 79 high-tech companies already have SEZ resident status, this also exceeds the targets for attracting new residents this year”, he added. On the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, companies with resident status are engaged in the production of electronic components, biomedical cell products for skin and soft tissue restoration, industrial robotic systems, inspection equipment, medical products for the treatment of kidney diseases, plastic waste recycling and others. “Technopolis Moscow has become the leader among all SEZs of technology-innovation type in terms of the dynamics of territories and infrastructure development. By the end of 2019, 114 infrastructure facilities have been built and put into operation, the size of land plots leased or owned by residents has reached 68 hectares. The capital SEZ is one of the most attractive for the localization of free economic zones production in proximity to the key arteries of the city”, underlined Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. In early Autumn, SEZ Technopolis Moscow took part for the first time in the rating of special economic zones of the world Global Free Zones of the Year, which is annually organized by the British edition of fDi Magazine.
