The special economic zone Technopolis Moscow took first place in the V National rating of investment attractiveness of the SEZ of Russia. The rating was prepared based on the results of 2020 and includes a study of the results of the work of 27 special economic zones, said Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. The national rating of investment attractiveness of the SEZ of Russia has been formed by the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia (AKIT) since 2017 with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. “Analyzing the activities of the special economic zone in Moscow, experts highly appreciated the conditions for entrepreneurial activity created here, developed infrastructure, and the availability of land resources. An important criterion was the investment activity of residents, who increased investments in their projects by the end of 2020 by 30 percent, to 8.9 billion rubles,” said the Vice-Mayor. A feature of this year's rating was the increase in the number of participants. In addition, experts began to take into account the existence of a sustainable development strategy and the environmental component. Media activity of special economic zones in 2020 is also among the defining criteria. Last year, the localization of high-tech companies at the sites of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow continued, said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. “22 new enterprises received the status of a resident of the special economic zone with a total volume of declared investments in the amount of 17.6 billion rubles. They have strengthened the competencies of almost all industry clusters of the Moscow SEZ through specialization in such areas as the production of medicines, ventilators, sterilization and refrigeration equipment, cutting tools, switches, and the development of energy-efficient solutions,” recalled Alexander Prokhorov. The SEZ of Moscow in 2020 developed the infrastructure of the sites, implemented projects to improve the service, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. “For the localization of enterprises, which are characterized by the format of compact placement of production facilities, a project of innovative laboratory industrial buildings has been implemented at the Alabushevo site. The construction of objects of the Rudnevo industrial zone, which in the future will enter the ecosystem of the capital's SEZ, entered an active phase. In 2020, the management company launched a platform for the selection of suitable vacancies and internships at enterprises of the special economic zone,” said Gennady Degtev. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SEZ residents received a 50% discount on the rental of premises from April to June 2020. Also, all organizations whose field of activity was included in the list of the most affected industries were provided with a deferral of rent payments.
