SEZ Technopolis Moscow became the leader of the international rating "Strategies for sustainable recovery of economic zones"

The special economic zone Technopolis Moscow became one of the leaders in the rating “Economic Zone Sustainable Recovery Strategies” in the “New Investment” nomination, and also received the “Editor's Choice: Covid fighters” award by the international edition Investment Monitor as informed by Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. The Moscow SEZ has existed since 2006. In 2016, at the initiative of the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, supported at the federal level, the special economic zone was taken over by Moscow. That’s where a new innovative life of the technological enterprises of the capital began. “Today the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow is an innovative platform and a special environment for the development of modern business. There are 88 residents working there, which are united in six clusters - from microelectronics and medicine to information and communication and energy efficient technologies. Rating experts praised the implementation of the capital's SEZ strategy for interaction with investors”, declared the Head of the Department. According to Alexander Prokhorov, SEZ Technopolis Moscow assists entrepreneurs in industrial cooperation, develops their export activities, promotes them in Russian and international markets and attracts additional financing through funds. A special nomination was given to the work of the Moscow SEZ during the pandemic: it became a platform for new solutions invented in the field of medical technology, disinfection equipment, first aid and medical supplies. “With the help of the residents' developments, a number of medical projects have been implemented responding to the challenges of the pandemic. However, the development of a pharmaceutical-medical cluster in the Moscow SEZ is not ad-hoc, but systematic. New production facilities for the production of drugs and medical devices are being built - for example, in the first half of 2021, manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment invested more than 10 billion rubles in their projects”, mentioned Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. The Economic Zone Sustainable Recovery Strategies rating is published for the first time.
