SEZ resident launched the production of a new RFID tag for marking metal and glass
A resident of the special economic zone of Moscow, a manufacturer and an exporter of microelectronics - Mikron has developed and launched into serial production of a new RFID-tag Scorpion applied in marking metal and glass. Among the existing miniature tags of this type, this one has the biggest reading range of information. “Today 35 residents of SEZ are working in the cluster of microelectronics, optics and robotics. In the first quarter of 2021 they produced items worth 2.6 billion rubles while the biggest part of this production fell on one of the largest chip manufacturers in the country –Mikron. The company is actively developing, constantly offering innovative developments. So the new tags with small dimensions can read information at the distance of up to 7.5 meters. Usually for products of this size the range doesn’t exceed two meters” - said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. The size of the new tag is 182x75x1mm, it operates in the range of 860-960MHz. Z1885M-34D. Scorpion is the third device in the line of self-adhesive UHF RFID tags for marking metal objects produced by the enterprise. In total, the portfolio of the company includes more than 200 tags of different types and modifications. “Because of little size the new tags will be effective for automating production and logistics processes, inventory control, control of counterfeit products and access control to various objects and storage units”- said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. The new ultra-high-frequency device is successfully read on glass surfaces, including containers with liquids. “An additional antenna element is used to ensure maximum readout range with minimum dimensions. When applied to an object, it is tucked under the label, so this design determined the name of the tag – Scorpion” – said Alexey Markin, Head of the RFID laboratory at Mikron. The group of companies Mikron is the largest manufacturer and exporter of microelectronics in Russia producing more than 700 types of devices, including integrated circuits for secure storage media, identification, payment and transport documents, power management and RFID-marking for various sectors of digital economy. Mikron has its own laboratory for design and testing radio frequency identification products in all operating frequency ranges. Mikron is a part of the group of companies Element and it has been a resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow since 2015. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ] and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
