In 2023-2024, it is planned to put into operation 10 lines for the production of medicines at the new plant and launch the production of more than 300 names of drugs. On the territory of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow opened the first line for the production of solid dosage forms at the new plant of Velpharm-M. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko and the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin. «I must say that in Moscow over the past five years we have been systematically engaged in this project. One of the largest pharmaceutical clusters in the country is being formed on the basis of a special economic zone. Most of the leading pharmaceutical manufacturers of our country are gathered here. Currently, six production facilities have already been opened. Three more will be opened this year and six more in the next four years. The volume of production at this site will grow 15 times, and it will be one of the largest pharmaceutical clusters in our country, and not only ours. More than 100 names of vital medicines will be produced here, most of which are not produced in the country today,» said the Mayor of Moscow. Thanks to the new production, in particular, it will be possible to close Russia's need for drugs for the treatment of oncological diseases by 80 percent. The project of creating an enterprise for the production of solid dosage forms was implemented from scratch, and this became an important event for the entire pharmaceutical industry of the country, Valentina Matvienko noted. According to her, the company is expected to produce more than 300 medicines of important groups. More than a thousand new modern jobs will be created with reaching the design capacity. Valentina Matvienko added that the implementation of such an ambitious project would have been impossible without the support of the state and the Mayor of Moscow. She expressed gratitude to Sergei Sobyanin for the qualitative changes that are taking place in the capital with his participation. «Sergey Sobyanin, I sincerely tell you this: we are not overjoyed at how Moscow is getting prettier every year, how it is becoming a more comfortable, convenient and beautiful city,» said Valentina Matvienko. — But at the same time, the fact that you pay personal attention to the creation of smart industries in Moscow, which is the driver of economic development, the creation of modern jobs, of course, is of great importance. And thank you for being so active in supporting this project.» Special thanks for the implementation of the project at the opening ceremony of the production line were expressed to the president of the pharmaceutical group Bright Way Industries Lyudmila Shcherbakova, who has already created four pharmaceutical clusters in Russia. The Mayor of Moscow noted that thanks to her participation, the new production was launched as soon as possible. The company has every opportunity to become one of the leaders of the pharmaceutical industry not only in terms of the number of products, but also in quality, added Valentina Matvienko. For the construction of a new enterprise, the SEZ site in Zelenograd Alabushevo was chosen — a three-hectare plot of land at the address: 50 General Alekseev Avenue. The construction of the pharmaceutical complex began in December 2019 and was completed exactly three years later - in December 2022. Its area was 33.7 thousand square meters. Not only full-cycle production will be organized here, but also the development of medicines. In the coming years, it is planned to launch the production of drugs for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, chronic renal failure, respiratory tract diseases, cardiac, oncological and other diseases. «The production of drugs, many of which have not been produced in Russia before, will be established here. In 2023-2024, the plant plans to put into operation 10 lines for the production of solid and sterile dosage forms and produce more than 300 names of drugs,» the Mayor of Moscow wrote in his telegram channel. The capacity of the new plant will annually produce up to 1.7 billion tablets, including coated tablets, 180 million solid gelatin capsules, powders in the volume of 45 million sachets, 1.7 million vials of freeze-dried products, 24 million vials of eye drops, five million pre-filled syringes. The plant is being created with state support. Thus, 1.5 billion rubles in the form of preferential loans were provided to the enterprise by the Federal Industrial Development Fund. And part of the cost of paying interest on loan agreements totaling more than 1.6 billion rubles is compensated by the Moscow Fund for Industry and Entrepreneurship Support. Velpharm-M has already invested four billion rubles in the creation of production.
