Proceeds of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow residents for January - March 2023 amounted to 18.7 billion rubles, which is more than three times higher than during the same period last year. This was reported by Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Yefimov. "About 90 companies have a resident status in SEZ Technopolis Moscow. In the first quarter of this year they sold high-tech products worth 18.7 billion rubles. In the same period in 2022 the volume of companies' revenues amounted to six billion rubles, and in 2021 - 5.6 billion rubles. Residents of the special economic zone produce original and import-substituting goods, software, medicines, equipment, innovative materials and components, which are in demand not only in the capital, but across the country," said Vladimir Yefimov. The residents of SEZ Technopolis Moscow work in six areas: microelectronics and optics, medical technology and pharma, software and equipment, high-tech, energy-efficient and nanotechnology. Depending on their needs, companies can choose in the special economic zone ready-made areas for the opening of production facilities or rent land on favorable terms for the construction of necessary facilities - factories, research or office centers. "The leaders in terms of revenue in the first quarter were companies engaged in the development of medical technology and pharmaceutical production. They sold products worth 8.4 billion rubles, which is six times more than last year and 23 times more than in 2021. This dynamics has helped to increase the production capacity and ensure a stable demand for the original and import-substituting products of the companies", - said the Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow Vladislav Ovchinsky. He also noted that the city has already signed seven offset contracts with the residents of the capital SEZ. The capital will receive medicines under five of them, two more contracts will cover medical products. Two contracts already provide consumables, accessories, medical products for stoma patients and medications. They are delivered to medical institutions and pharmacy networks in Moscow. Offset contracts allow companies to expand their production, create new jobs, have guaranteed sales of products, and the city, in turn, meets its needs for socially important goods and develops industry in the region. "On the basis of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow more than 30 representatives of microelectronics, photonics and robotics are developing their production. At the end of the first quarter of this year, they sold products worth six billion rubles, which is almost 140 percent higher than the result for the same period in 2022. Enterprises are actively applying new technologies, buy equipment and conduct their own developments, which allow to optimize the production of electronic components, microchips, chips, printed circuit boards and other goods," - said General Director of Technopolis Moscow Gennady Degtev. Resident status of SEZ Technopolis Moscow allows manufacturers to receive a number of tax benefits and preferences. For example, they are exempted from land, property and transport tax for 10 years, they have the right of duty-free import of products, and profit tax rate for them is only two percent. There are also benefits on the lease of land allocated for the construction of the enterprise.
