RESIDENTS OF THE SEZ TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW SIX-FOLD INCREASED INVESTMENT IN PRODUCTION

Residents of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow in the first three months of 2022 invested almost six times more in the development of their production facilities than in the same period last year. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov. “In the first quarter of 2022, SEZ residents invested more than 11.2 billion rubles in the development of their industries, which is almost six times more than in the first quarter of 2021, when investments amounted to 1.9 billion rubles, and in the same period of 2020, then two billion rubles were invested. The total investment of residents during their work at the sites of the SEZ exceeded 75 billion rubles,” said Vladimir Efimov. He added that according to the results of the first quarter, every third ruble invested in the manufacturing industries of the capital fell on residents of the SEZ. In the special economic zone of Moscow, there are 90 high-tech companies with resident status and the right to appropriate tax and customs preferences. They produce modern electronics, medical and telecommunications equipment, create new materials, offer innovative energy-efficient solutions and their own software. “Most of the quarterly investments in the capital's SEZ were provided by residents involved in the development of the electronics industry. These 32 enterprises invested 8.5 billion rubles at the beginning of 2022, while in the first quarter of 2021 - about 300 million rubles,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. Leading domestic microelectronic enterprises are concentrated in the Moscow SEZ, which opens up wide opportunities for industrial cooperation for new residents, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. “The growth in the volume of investments from residents is explained by the infrastructural and logistical advantages of the sites of the capital’s SEZ. Investors were attracted to opportunities for development that were regularly confirmed by its leading electronics and other high-tech companies. So, last year alone, 15 residents showed more than a twofold increase in production volumes,” said Gennady Degtev.
