In the first quarter of this year residents of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow created almost 700 jobs at their enterprises. This is 70 percent more than a year earlier. "For the first three months of this year, residents of Technopolis Moscow SEZ employed 699 specialists of various profiles at their high-tech productions. This exceeds data of 2022 by 70 percent and 4,5 times more than the number of jobs created during the same period in 2021. In total, since the moment of Technopolis Moscow SEZ creation, almost 10,4 thousand people got jobs on the production sites of the residents", - told Vladislav Ovchinsky, the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow. More than 200 high-tech companies have placed their production on the basis of the capital's special economic zone, and more than 90 of them have the resident status. It gives them a number of tax and customs preferences, which allow enterprises to develop, to carry out innovative development and to set up the production output on the sites with the developed infrastructure. "The majority of jobs during this period - 321 - were provided by enterprises engaged in the field of microelectronics, optics, robotics and industrial automation. Mikron, Elvis and NM-TECH employed the most employees in the first quarter of 2023. In total, since the creation of the special economic zone, manufacturers of this industry have hired more than 6.1 thousand employees", - said the general director of SEZ Technopolis Moscow Gennady Degtev. In comparison with the same period of the last year, the number of the created workplaces in the companies - residents of microelectronics and optics cluster has grown almost by 85 percent: in 2022 174 employees were employed. Compared with 2021, the number of jobs increased 20 times, that year 16 people were employed by the companies. Resident companies developing on the basis of SEZ Technopolis Moscow medical technologies and pharmaceutics now employ almost two thousand specialists. These are highly qualified scientists, chemists, laboratory managers, and technical personnel who ensure the continuity of processes - loaders, lab technicians, line operators at production facilities. In the first quarter of 2023, companies in this area created 181 jobs, 31 percent more than in 2022 and five times as many as in 2021. The residents and the companies which have localized the manufactures in SEZ Technopolis Moscow, besides privileges can use developed infrastructure of platforms, to develop the enterprises in capital, to cooperate at project development with other companies and residents of SEZ. Special Economic Zone Technopolis Moscow is a territory with a special legal status, which has a preferential regime of entrepreneurial activity for investors. On 260 hectares there are six sites (Pechatniki, Alabushevo, Mikron, MIET, Angstrem, Rudnevo), where high-tech enterprises of SEZ are located.
