Residents of SEZ Technopolis Moscow have created 1.3 thousand new workplaces

Companies - residents of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow created 1.3 thousand workplaces last year, the total number of employees of these enterprises reached almost 8.5 thousand people. This was announced by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. "By the beginning of 2022, the number of employees of the capital's special economic zone exceeded 11 thousand people. Almost 8.5 thousand of them are specialists from 90 resident companies. In total, 1.3 thousand additional workplaces appeared at such enterprises in 2021" - said Vladimir Efimov. Vladislav Ovchinsky, the Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow, clarified that more than half of the employees of the capital's SEZ companies are employed at microelectronics manufacturing enterprises. "Now almost five thousand people in the SEZ work at enterprises producing microelectronics, and about 1.5 thousand – in companies developing medical technologies and pharmaceuticals. About a thousand more people work in the IT industry, and more than 450 employees work in a cluster of high-tech industries. Finally, about 250 specialists create modern materials for construction and other industries, 200 work with energy–efficient technologies"- explained Vladislav Ovchinsky. In 2021, the cluster of medical technologies and biopharmaceuticals became the leader in creating new workplaces, added the CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, Gennady Degtev. "During the year, the number of employees of 20 enterprises of the cluster of medical technologies and biopharmaceuticals increased by 1.1 thousand people – this is five times more than in 2020, when the increase was about 200 employees. Such dynamics is associated with the appearance of four new residents of this industry in the SEZ and the launch of major projects"- explained Gennady Degtev. Enterprises of the cluster of medical technologies, equipment and biopharmaceuticals of the capital SEZ continue to actively recruit specialists.
