The resident of the special economic zone of the capital, the Mapper company, is investing about 40 million rubles in expanding the production of electronic microdevices (MEMS devices). Half of this amount is the company's own funds, half is a grant from the Innovation Promotion Fund as informed by Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) are technologies and devices that combine microelectronic and micromechanical components. MEMS devices are various micrometer-sized parts: sensors, gyroscopes, switches, game controllers, and light reflectors. They are used in navigation systems, automobiles, aerospace technology, biomedicine, laser printers, wireless and optical communications. “The MEMS production project of Mapper was among the winners of the eleventh phase of the grant program "Commercialization" of the Innovation Promotion Fund. The enterprise will use its grant in the amount of 20 million rubles, as well as 20 million rubles of its own funds, to purchase high-tech equipment and software for the expansion of production”, explained Gennady Degtev. In order to implement the project, which was awarded the grant, Mapper plans to purchase specialized software MES - an automated production control system and high-tech equipment: annealer, gas supply systems, a laser engraver and a magnetron. The Mapper company has been working for many years in accordance with the ISO 9001: 2015 standard, which ensures the production of high quality products and allows you to successfully compete in the MEMS market of Russia, said Denis Shamiryan, CEO of the company. “The status of a resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, as well as support from grant programs such as "Commercialization", allow the company to develop and produce unique products. Thanks to this, Mapper can expand the production of MEMS in Russia and in the future claim to be a leading position among similar domestic companies", he added. Mapper was founded in 2012 as a 100% subsidiary of the Mapper Lithography holding with financial support from Rusnano. In 2013, the MEMS factory was built on the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, and in 2018 the enterprise received the status of a resident. The production premises of the company occupy 1,500 square meters, the production line includes more than 30 pieces of equipment. The company uses advanced technologies of semiconductor manufacturing, which are implemented in the global practice in the manufacture of MEMS.
