Resident of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow supplied its products to the largest nuclear power plant in India

The resident of the special economic zone, the Nanotechnology Center for Composites (NCC), has completed the delivery of a pipeline and a suspension system made of composite materials for the cooling system of new power units of the largest nuclear power plant in India. This was announced by the head of the Department of investment and industrial policy of the city of Moscow, which is part of the Complex of economic policy and property and land relations of the capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky. “The resident of the metropolitan SEZ started developing elements of the cooling system for the Kudankulam NPP in 2018. In May of this year, their production began, and already in early December, the company shipped the entire batch to the customer. The total length of the pipeline was over 1,300 meters,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky. Composite pipes are made of chemically resistant polyester resin and glass roving (strands of continuous glass fibers), and a universal ultra-thin heat-insulating coating is applied to the surface of the pipes. The support-suspension system of the pipeline consists of seven elements, which are made of composite materials. The underground part of the pipeline system is protected by special composite cases. In their manufacture, a resident of the SEZ Moscow applied a new technology: SMC - pressing the material at elevated temperatures (120-160 ° C). This made it possible to increase the speed of production and reduce the weight of the structures. The total length of the cases protecting the pipeline of the cooling system of the power units of the Kudankulam NPP is almost 200 linear meters. “The composite protective case for pipelines was developed by NCC specialists to replace the traditional metal case. A distinctive feature of our cases is increased strength, interchangeability of parts, protection against stray currents and compact placement during transportation,” said Alexei Rannev, Director General of the NCC. The NCC company carries out a full cycle of development and production of products from polymer composite materials for various industries. Today it is the leader in the domestic market of composites. “The products of a resident of the Moscow Special Economic Zone are in high demand not only in Russia, but also abroad. In 2022, the company continued export deliveries. Its export portfolio includes more than 20 countries of the world: from Western Europe and Asia to North and Latin America,” said Gennady Degtev, CEO of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow. ________________________________________ Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ]  and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
