In the first half of 2021, special economic zone Technopolis Moscow increased the recycling of plastic from old electronics by 30% as informed by Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. “In the first half of the year, the volume of recycled plastic processing increased by 30% compared to the same period last year and in absolute terms amounted to more than 1.6 thousand tons. We see that both Moscow companies and city residents are taking an increasingly responsible approach to environmentally friendly disposal of used equipment. Thus, the task of more efficient use of resources is being completed bringing both economic and environmental benefits. In general, the technologies involved make it possible to return to the economy up to 95% of all components of electronic and electrical equipment waste as secondary raw materials”, said the Head of the Department. Investments in this high-tech production amounted to 1.2 billion rubles. Today, the plant with an area of 5.6 thousand square meters employs about 50 people. Located in SEZ Technopolis Moscow, the production company Ecoplast, part of the Ecopolis Corporation plant complex, is responsible for obtaining secondary polymer raw materials from recycled household appliances. The ideas of a circular economy are becoming more and more popular, requiring new, advanced solutions, which the company implements. The organization's capacities allow to process up to 14 thousand tons of mixed case plastics per year, which are again used in the production of technical equipment parts and household items. The modernization of the plastics separation systems carried out at the enterprise made it possible not only to separate plastics by color, but also to achieve 98% of the purity of the secondary plastic granule obtained. Thanks to innovations applied, polymer production in the SEZ of the capital does not have a negative impact on the environment. “The water used at the plant is purified and fed back into the production cycle. In addition, the company has installed special equipment for gas filtration. The tenant of the special economic zone is actively working on the creation of infrastructure for the collection of old electronics from the population and industrial enterprises. In particular, during the environmental campaign in the first half of the year, the company collected from city residents more than a ton of used household appliances, which were processed into secondary raw materials”, pointed out Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. As the executive director of the Ecoplast plant Aleksey Korolev noted, today the market is witnessing an increase in demand for high-quality secondary polymer raw materials and for finished products from secondary plastics. According to him, environmentally friendly technologies are becoming more and more popular and are being successfully implemented in the special economic zone of Moscow. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ] and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
