RESIDENT OF THE SEZ TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW HAS STARTED PRODUCING DRUGS FOR ASTHMA AND RARE DISEASES

The resident of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow, who localized production at the Alabushevo site, launched a manufactory for the production of drugs for the treatment of bronchial asthma, cardiovascular, rare and hereditary diseases. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov. "Generium-Next received the status of a resident of the Moscow SEZ last year. The company rented a place with an area of about 500 square meters at the Alabushevo site, where it placed a manufactory for the secondary packaging and production of drugs for the treatment of complications of bronchial asthma and rare, so-called orphan diseases, including Gaucher's disease and cystic fibrosiss. The first batches of products have already been sent to pharmaceutical institutions. It is planned that the manufactory will produce more than 150 thousand product units annually and will reach full capacity by the end of 2024. Today, the company's customers are dozens of Moscow public and private medical institutions," said Vladimir Efimov. The company plans to build its own аfactory at the Alabushevo site by 2024 and invest almost five billion rubles in it, the deputy mayor added. This will contribute to provide the healthcare system with modern genetically engineered medicines of domestic production for the treatment of various, including severe diseases. "After launching its own manufactories, the company will produce substances and finished dosage forms, primary and secondary packaging for medicines. It is planned to create at least 250 jobs at the enterprise," said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. Generium-next implements a full cycle of production of biotechnological drugs – from the creation of a molecule to the beginning of industrial production. It conducts research on individual drugs in collaboration with leading biotech companies and research institutes from all over the world. The company is a leader in the orphan segment of the Russian pharmaceutical market.
