Special Design and Technology Bureau of Applied Robotics (SDTAR), a tenant of the special economic zone of the capital city delivered a batch of eight MRK-15 mobile robotic systems for the disposal of explosive objects for Russian law enforcement agencies as informed by Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. “Moscow is one of the leaders in the production of service and industrial robots in the country. For instance, the capital's robotic manipulators are already performing cyclical routine operations at the dairy and confectionery and bakery plants, and the production of cable products. Special-purpose robots, created by SKTB PR, serve in the army, work in the EMERCOM of Russia, and solve various problems in conditions of increased radiation in the nuclear industry. The company has been operating in SEZ Technopolis Moscow since 2013. During this time, the enterprise has produced more than 30 robotic systems of various classes and purposes, capable of remotely operating under human control in hazardous conditions”, said Alexander Prokhorov. According to Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow robotic complexes have passed several validation phases. “The latest batch of SKTB PR products went through the state commission acceptance and qualification tests of sapper robots, including climatic, vibration and shock tests, most of which were organized directly in the SEZ at the Pechatniki site. No other robotic systems manufactured in Russia have previously been exposed to such a vast testing”, pointed out Gennady Degtev. The main task of the MRK-15 robotic systems is to replace a person when working on the disposal of explosive objects informed Ilya Laverychev, SEO of SDTAR. “The developed complexes are multifunctional. They can perform visual reconnaissance, transport explosive devices with a manipulator, open them with a power tool or destroy them with a hydraulic breaker”, he added. SKTB PR has been focusing on the development, design and creation of robotic complexes and special-purpose systems for more than 30 years. The products created by the company are successfully used to replace a person when performing work associated with an increased risk, such as rescue and explosives operations, work in conditions of radiation and chemical contamination, military and anti-terrorist actions. Robotic complexes created by SDTAR also operate at the Leningrad and Beloyarsk NPPs.
