Resident of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow began construction of a plant for the production of SIM-cards

The resident of the special economic zone SEZ Technopolis Moscow - the company Eastkompis Rus - began the construction of a new plant for the production of SIM-cards at the site Alabushevo. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov. “The company has already received permits for the construction of a new plant, and now the preparatory work for the construction of the facility is being completed. The resident of the special economic zone intends to invest more than 200 million rubles in the project. The construction is planned to be completed in 2023,” said Vladimir Efimov. At the plant, the company plans to produce both traditional SIM-cards and work on further improvement of virtual cards (eSIM), which are built into the phone and connected via scanning a QR code. They are activated through the RSP platform and then they are assigned numbers. “Annually, the company produces more than 60 million units of products for the domestic and foreign markets at its own small production facility in Zelenograd and other sites. The opening of the new plant will make it possible to place the main facilities in one place,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department. The company has been a resident of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow since 2020. Among its clients are the largest mobile operators and banks in Russia and the CIS countries. “The area of the new plant will exceed 2.1 thousand square meters. More than 50 jobs will be created at the enterprise,” said Gennady Degtev, CEO of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow. The creation of new industries and jobs in the special economic zone of Moscow is facilitated by economic and customs preferences for residents. Such companies are relieved of the need to pay taxes on property, land and transport.
