Resident of the capital's special economic zone will mark works of art

A microelectronics manufacturer from SEZ Technopolis Moscow has developed a solution for the authentication of works of art in the ARTRESTR system. Authentication of works and authors began in the innovative art objects base ARTREESTR thanks to the solution based on RFID tags of the resident of the Moscow special economic zone - the company Mikron. The tag has a unique identification number and an encrypted certificate of authenticity is stored in its memory. “More than 30 companies are currently working in the microelectronics cluster of the Moscow SEZ, and in total have created more than 5,000 jobs. The Mikron company is one of the largest manufacturers that offers solutions for marking objects in many industries, including inventory of goods in a warehouse, school property, and utilities. The resident's developments help to optimize organizational and business processes, increase their speed, and improve the quality of services. The company's own RFID laboratory allows the company to create solutions that will now be used in the field of art,” announced Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. An author's work posted in ARTRESTR, at the request of the artist, is marked with a radio frequency NFC tag, which may contain information about the object, including the name of the author, date of registration, owner, etc. You can read the information and verify the authenticity of the work with any smartphone with an NFC module. “Digital marking of works of art in ARTRESTR is the first project of its kind in Russia. The creators of the base of art objects purchased the first batch of tags and began introducing markings, which are voluntary and designed to strengthen copyright protection. RFID tags for authenticating art objects are resistant to aggressive environments, operate in a wide range of temperatures and humidity, and are applied to various surfaces, including wood, canvas, paper, plastic, etc. Reading is possible at any level of illumination. The developer and manufacturer of radio frequency tags, the Mikron company, is constantly developing new solutions, using additional resources available due to benefits in the status of a resident of the SEZ of Moscow”, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. According to the ARTRESTR, after the abduction of Arkhip Kuindzhi's paintings from the Tretyakov Gallery in 2019, the State Duma proposed to return to the idea of mandatory labeling of all works of art. “There is no doubt about the need to protect works of art, but the introduction of new technologies is a complex and costly process. Attention to innovation in the Year of Science and Technology has helped ARTRESTRA to make significant progress in matters of modern technology”, declared Alexander Osipov, the Head of ARTRESTR. The application of the authentication solution is actively developing and will soon be available to all interested artists in Russia. In the future, it is planned to combine the system based on microelectronic devices with the latest developments in Blockchain technology. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ]  and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
