This was announced by Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. “More than 200 Candidates and Doctors of Science conduct scientific, promotional and production activities at the enterprises of the Moscow SEZ. They are mainly employed in the microelectronic industry - about 140 scientists work in this cluster, the leaders are such residents as NIIME, ZITC, Angstrem, Mikron. In addition, during their work in the capital SEZ, about 30 companies have registered the results of their intellectual activity in the form of patents, licenses, certificates, know-how, trademarks,” said the Head of the Department. The companies work closely with the country's universities and research centers. Engineers, chemists, technologists train here. A high level of training of specialists for innovative industries is provided by the country's leading universities, such as MIET, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MISIS and other educational institutions. “Own scientific divisions help develop unique products, sell them domestically and abroad. According to the results of 9 months of 2021, the total revenue of these enterprises exceeded 13.7 billion rubles, which is almost 70 percent of the revenue of all residents of the Moscow SEZ in this period,” said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. The science-intensive industries of the metropolitan SEZ contribute to the formation of a new type of industry in Moscow - high-tech, focused on the needs of the domestic and export markets.
