Modules will go to the Moon, components for which are produced by a resident of the SEZ Technopolis Moscow

Within the project “Moon-25” a landing module is going to be sent to the Moon in 2021 carrying a radio communication unit produced on the territory of special economic zone Technopolis Moscow. The high-tech manufacturing of the tenants of special economic zone Technopolis Moscow is demanded not only on Earth but in space as well, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. “The equipment of the tenant of special economic zone will help to explore the Moon and quickly transfer data to the Earth. The demand from aerospace industry evidences that the tenants are constantly improving their products”, – shared Gennady Degtev. In less than two years an upgraded radio communication system manufactured on the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow will set off to the International Space Station to replace the current system which has been operated for ten years. The new system transfers information 15 times faster. The radio communication units installed on ISS, on the Moon modules and other spacecraft are produced by a R&D enterprise SAIT. Since 2014 the research and development enterprise SAIT has also been involved in the production of flight communication equipment for spacecraft on MIET site in Zelenograd, informed Dmitry Safonov, Director of the enterprise. “Last year the company supplied five complexes of high-speed downlink for the total amount of RUR 150 million. The transferred information includes space pictures and landscape monitoring data like glacial melting, natural and manmade disasters”, said Dmitry Safonov. On average it takes 1.5-2 years to produce one complex including the certification of electronic component base. At first the equipment is tested on the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow and then it is sent to the test center NIIEM (Research and Development Institute of Electro mechanics).
