IT companies have invested about a billion rubles in the projects of the Technopolis Moscow

The investment of IT companies operating on the territory of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone increased by more than 70 percent in 2021. This was announced by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. "Residents of the special economic zone of Moscow, engaged in the developming of telecommunications equipment and software, in 2021 invested about a billion rubles in their projects on the territory of the SEZ. The investment for the year increased by more than 70 percent compared to 2020, when residents invested 578 million rubles," said Vladimir Efimov. According to the deputy mayor, comfortable conditions for investors in the special economic zone of the capital and increased demand for services and products of companies contribute to the growth of investments. Currently, 90 companies have the status of a resident of the special economic zone. They represent six main clusters. One of them is the cluster of information and communication technologies. "The IT cluster of the special economic zone of Moscow now includes 13 enterprises. Its residents have invested about 11.5 billion rubles in their projects in the SEZ since 2006," said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department. According to Gennady Degtev, CEO of Technopolis Moscow SEZ, more than a quarter of the total investment in this sector accounted for four new residents who joined it in 2021. "Investors choose the capital's SEZ for convenient infrastructure and logistics, ample opportunities for cooperation and development of production facilities at its sites, economic advantages that its resident status gives. For example, exemption from taxes on land, property and transport and payment of only two percent income tax," explained Gennady Degtev.
