Increased number of budgetary places in technical specialties at NIU MIET

One of the leading technical universities of the country, the National Research University Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (NRU MIET), has increased the number of budgetary places in technical specialties by 23 percent over the last five years. The university's production facilities are located in the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow. This was reported by Deputy Mayor of Moscow on economic policy and property and land relations Vladimir Efimov. "Over the past five years in NIU MIET the number of budget places in technical specialties has increased by 23 percent. For example, in 2023, 837 places were allocated for undergraduate studies in 18 such areas and 429 for those entering the master's program. Traditionally, IT and engineering specialties are in great demand among applicants. There are a lot of applicants wishing to enroll in Electronics and Nanoelectronics, where the largest number of budgetary places - 141", - said Vladimir Efimov. NIU MIET is one of the leading centers of education, science and innovation in the field of electronics and IT. It participates in the federal program of strategic academic leadership Priority 2030. The university coordinates the Association of universities that train personnel in the field of electronic component base development. To confirm the level of students' knowledge, this year the university launched the Interindustry Examination Center, which also helps to adjust educational programs, focusing on the needs of employers, including companies of the capital's SEZ. "In the new academic year, NIU MIET is launching the Master's program "Synchrotron Radiation in Nanomaterials Technology". This is a pilot project, the importance of which is due to the acute need for specialists working in the field of research of new materials. Today graduates of the university are in demand at domestic electronics enterprises", - said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, which is part of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations of the capital. In 2023 NIU MIET graduated over a thousand young specialists, some of whom are ready to be employed at the enterprises of the capital's special economic zone. According to Gennady Degtev, Director General of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, graduates of the university are of special importance for the enterprises of the site Alabushevo, it is the most popular for employment of young specialists. "In recent years, the employment rate of graduates of NIU MIET keeps at the level of 85-87%. Such data is provided by Rostrud, they are published on the portal Work of Russia. The average salary of graduates of NIU MIET in Moscow in 2022-2023 amounted to 150 thousand rubles, which is 10 thousand rubles more than those who graduated a year earlier. The rating takes into account the income of young specialists of the last five years of graduation.
