In the first six months of 2021, trade between Moscow and Italy increased by 32.8% compared to the same period last year and reached $ 7.5 billion as informed by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs. “The capital's non-resource non-energy exports fueled the increase in Moscow-Italian trade turnover amounting to USD 647.58 million in the first half of this year - more than 3.5 times more than in 2020. It accounts for 13.3% of Moscow's total exports to the Italian market. The export of industrial products became the driver of non-primary non-energy supplies to Italy, which in the first half of this year increased to USD 639.48 million, while in the corresponding period of 2020 it amounted to only USD 181.10 million”, said the Vice-Mayor. The commodity structure of exported manufactured goods is very diverse. Moscow companies supply to the Italian market mechanical equipment, technical devices and computers - USD 8.83 million, electrical devices and communication equipment - USD 1.64 million, optics, devices and medical equipment - USD 1.47 million. “A significant contribution to the growth of Moscow's industrial exports to the Italian market was made by the supply of pharmaceutical products. So, for example, immunological products were hardly supplied to Italy earlier, but in the first half of 2021 were exported for a total amount of 34.56 million US dollars”, pointed out Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. The development of exports to Italy is facilitated, among other things, by events and programs organized by Mosprom Center. For example, on 17th August, within the resident club at the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow, the Center held a business breakfast "Export to the EU by the example of Italy". The experts introduced the main tools to help exporters in developing the market, and also demonstrated successful cases of promoting Russian manufacturers on the Italian market. “Companies from the Moscow special economic zone have expressed interest in working with Italy, where innovative technologies from the Moscow SEZ could find new market niches. Today, the products manufactured in Technopolis Moscow are already supplied to several dozen countries, including Europe, and every eighth resident is an exporter”, stressed Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. In addition, experts of the Mosprom Center, under the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow, analyze target markets for capital’s producers, and within the buyer's program, help capital’s companies find counterparties and conduct negotiations with potential buyers abroad, ensure their participation in international exhibitions and business missions. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ] and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
