Resident of special economic zone (SEZ) «Technopolis Moscow» NGO «Composite» in autumn this year will begin to produce aluminum cases for the protection of batteries of electric vehicles. This was announced by the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, which is the part of the Complex of Property and Land Relations of the capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky. The company, located in the capital and specializing in the work with the composite materials, will expand the list of products by manufacturing protective enclosures for batteries of electric vehicles. In this way, it has already installed mew equipment at its enterprise located at the site of the special economic zone of Moscow in «Pechatniki». For this purpose and for the development of its own production the company spent about 60 million rubles», - told Vladislav Ovchinsky. Cases, which will be produced by the NGO «Composite», hold and protect from external influences battery modules of electric cars. Now many of these housings are made of steel, but aluminum has a number of advantages - for example, lightness, clarified CEO Mikhail Filimonov. The resident of the Special Economic Zone of Moscow will produce protective cases of various shapes and sizes, that will be able to adapt to the characteristics of battery modules. The battery case market is becoming more and more technologically advanced both in terms of the materials used and their processing processes. The NGO «Composite» is engaged in leveling of the surface of sheet metal, chamfering, deburring, drilling and cutting of screws. «According to a study by the International Energy Agency on electric and plug-in hybrids Global Electric Vehicle Outlook 2022, sales of such registered vehicles doubled in 2021, reaching a record 6,6 million. This trend continues into 2022, despite supply chain problems. Two million cars were sold worldwide only in the first quarter – this represents an increase of approximately 75 per cent over the same period last year.
