An innovation from the special economic zone of Moscow will help to determine the presence of influenza or Covid-19 in a single test. It will be possible to buy an express system in pharmacies of the city at the end of June 2022. This was announced by the Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy, which is part of the Complex of Economic policy and Land-property affairs of the capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky. "A company from the SEZ of Moscow has created a test system that, based on the results of a single analysis, gives an answer whether the influenza or Covid-19 is present in the body. This solution reduces the cost and simplifies the diagnosis, which is fundamentally important for choosing the right treatment. The test system will be launched into mass production in June 2022, the first batch will be 100 thousand pieces. It will be available in laboratories and pharmacies in Moscow, and then in the regions of Russia"- said Vladislav Ovchinsky. The test system looks like a standard pharmacy express set for detecting influenza - a cassette the size of a thermometer with indicators of influenza A and B, as well as a mark about Covid-19. Swabs from the nasopharynx are used as samples for analysis. The test material is placed in a bottle with a special fluid. Then, a drop of the fluid is applied to the cassette window, and after that a corresponding strip appears on the test scale in the presence of infection. The development of the test itself took about a year and a half and required an investment of about 5 million, said Veronika Osipova, the CEO of the developer company Imbian Lab. "We made sure that the system recognizes influenza A and B, as well as all known Covid-19 strains, including Omicron and Stels. If a new strain of it appears, we will conduct additional clinical tests. The innovation will make it possible to fill the need for Russian diagnostic systems, which is growing due to the withdrawal of foreign suppliers from the market. At the same time, its main advantage is accessibility for the patient, who will be able to halve their diagnostic costs"- noted Veronika Osipova. The average retail price of an express test for Covid-19, which recognizes the presence of the virus antigen, is within 500 rubles. An express test that detects influenza A and B costs up to a thousand rubles. Accordingly, a person spends an average of one and a half thousand rubles on research. The new product, as the developer promises, will cost the buyer within 700 rubles. The company, which localizes its production at the site of the SEZ of Moscow in Alabushevo from 2022, is systematically increasing its portfolio of new products, noted the CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, Gennady Degtev. "Recently, Imbian Lab announced the creation of a portable device for the diagnosis of diseases in 19 parameters, several dozen more new developments are undergoing the registration stage. In total, the company is preparing to produce about 50 types of diagnostic systems at the Moscow SEZ site, with the help of which it is possible to detect a large number of infections and abnormalities in the human body"- said Gennady Degtev. In the SEZ of Moscow, the company occupies premises with an area of 2.5 thousand square meters. There she placed laboratories, production sites and an office for employees. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Email: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram -channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ] and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
