April 14 marks the 60th anniversary of the flagship of the domestic medical industry - JSC "Tyumen Plant of Medical Equipment and Instruments" (TZMOI). During its work, its specialists have produced hundreds of thousands of pieces of equipment for sterilization and disinfection. Now the plant, located on the site of the Moscow SEZ in Pechatniki, has the most modern production capabilities. The company was founded in Tyumen. Throughout its history, it has produced various types of products: from simple medical devices to complex ones, such as disinfection boilers, droppers, catheters, injection needles and syringes, high-tech equipment for infection control. The plant's products were exported to 14 countries of the world. By the end of the 20th century, the plant provided 90% of the country's needs for steam sterilizers: from desktop autoclaves to stationary chambers for a thousand liters. Since 2018, the company has been operating in the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow". Now the plant in Pechatniki has the production capabilities of the most modern level. “The company is included in the cluster of medical technologies, equipment and biopharmaceuticals, whose enterprises have produced products worth about seven billion rubles over the entire period of work in the SEZ. It is used in the healthcare system of both the capital and regions. TZMOI, in turn, makes a great contribution to the provision of medical facilities with disinfection equipment throughout the country. Since the launch of production in Pechatniki in 2018, the plant has produced about three thousand units of infection control equipment. Moreover, over the past five years, their production has increased six times. The preferences of the special economic zone and cooperative ties within the technological community played a big role in this,” said the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow, which is part of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations of the Capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky. In 2021 alone, the plant doubled its output compared to the same period of the previous year and produced more than 500 pieces of equipment worth about 1.3 billion rubles. Among them, a large share was occupied by steam sterilizers and installations for processing flexible endoscopes. “At the site in Pechatniki, the company today has a fleet of more than 70 machines. Electrical installation and mechanical assembly sections were organized, stands for functional testing, including electrical safety, were installed, a warehouse of purchased components and finished products was equipped according to modern standards. Every year, the equipment fleet is updated and expanded according to the investment program of the plant and taking into account new plans for import substitution. In recent years, the staff of engineers has increased by 20 percent, research and development work is being carried out continuously,” said General Director of the Moscow Special Economic Zone Gennady Degtev. TZMOI maintains the best production traditions in order to continue supplying reliable Russian-made medical equipment to medical institutions, said the General Director of JSC TZMOI Alexander Prosviryakov. “We understand the importance of implementing the import substitution program, especially in the current situation. And today, taking into account the completed large-scale investment program, the plant is able to meet the needs of the domestic healthcare system in modern and high-quality equipment for infection control throughout Russia. Currently, on the basis of the manufactured medical equipment, the complex equipment of the central sterilization departments of medical institutions of any complexity is being carried out,” Alexander Prosviryakov said. According to him, the equipment was delivered to the largest medical institutions in the country, including the hospital for the fight against COVID-19 - MMCC "Kommunarka", medical aid and rescue centers (financed by Rusal), technological sites of pharmaceutical enterprises and research centers, including branches of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPO Microgen, FGBNU "Scientific Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums. I.I. Mechnikov" private clinics "MEDSI", "Mother and Child". TZMOI has already accumulated experience in solving emergency tasks. In 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, the plant made every effort to meet the needs of hospitals and covid hospitals across the country. Employees of the enterprise continuously worked in 3 shifts.
