Innovative optical transformers from Profotech [ http://en.profotech.ru/ ] , a resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, will be introduced at 40 Russian energy facilities by the end of 2025. This was announced by Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. Profotech, a resident of the Moscow Special Economic Zone, is the only manufacturer of optical electronic current and voltage transformers in Russia. The company has invested more than 108 million rubles in its project on the territory of SEZ, more than 60 specialists work at the enterprise. By the end of 2025, the company's optical transformers will be introduced at 40 power grid facilities, and work is underway to identify specific points of implementation,” said Alexander Prokhorov. The substation renovation program assumes that new devices will be installed at the facilities of the main and distribution networks, including 15 substations with a voltage level of 220 kilovolts and 25 substations of 110 kilovolts. Today, Profotech optical transformers are already operating at the Tobol and Uvat substations in Siberia, as well as at the first Sever digital substation in the Arctic. For the full-scale implementation of transformers throughout the country, Profotech received 300 million rubles to expand production as part of venture financing from the VEB Ventures fund of the VEB.RF group. The money will be used to scale up sales, increase production capacity, expand the product line, and conduct R&D. Since 2018, the Profotech company has been part of the microelectronics and optics cluster of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, where it occupies more than 2.7 thousand square meters at Pechatniki site. Convenient location, modern infrastructure and preferences of the status of a resident of a special economic zone helped the company reach production volumes of up to 100 million rubles in the first three quarters of 2021. Profotech's products include fiber-optic measuring current transformers and electronic voltage transformers designed to effectively replace traditional models at power plants. They are in demand not only in Russia, but also in the world - the products are actively supplied to various countries in Europe and America,” said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. Research and production company Profotech is engaged in the development, production and implementation of equipment based on its own innovative technologies from the field of photonics.
