A manufacturer of machining tools from the SEZ Technopolis Moscow increased revenue by almost one and a half times

Microbor, a resident of the capital's special economic zone operating in the production of monolithic and soldered tools for the turning and milling operation, increased its revenue by 45 percent in 2020. The company's growth drivers were the introduction of new technologies and the development of production facilities said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. "In a difficult year Microbor was able not only to maintain its position in the market, but also to increase the revenue almost one and a half times. This was contingent on the launch of a new plant on the Pechatniki site of SEZ and a wider range of products. In spite of the quarantine restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a new production line was set up at the enterprise - production of tools made of ceramics, which are in demand in metallurgy and automobile industry. These products increased the company's total revenue by 15 percent," said Gennady Degtev. Last year the company's own innovative development was also introduced into the production - the new technology of sintering the blank for the tool production from the cubic boron nitride that allowed to increase the size of the blank. Due to this development the composite production increased by 25% and the products became even more attractive for exporters. By the results of 2020 the order portfolio of the enterprise has been made up by more than 100 companies. The company Microbor has been the resident of SEZ Technopolis Moscow since 2019. Microbor is the only developer and full-cycle manufacturer of tools made of superhard materials in the entire post-Soviet space. Over 500 companies in Russia and abroad use the products manufactured at the enterprise in accordance with the international standards ISO 9001. Among the largest Russian customers are Magnitogorsk metallurgical complex, Severstal, UralVagonZavod, NMLK, Metalloinvest, EVRAZ.
