A company from the Technopolis Moscow SEZ collected more than a ton of obsolete household appliances from Muscovites for recycling

A resident-company of SEZ Technopolis Moscow has held an ecological campaign for collecting electronic waste. Muscovites handed in more than a ton of household appliances for further recycling, stated Alexander Prokhorov, the Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow. "The environment can be improved only by the joint efforts of citizens, civic activists, city authorities and businesses, including the capital's industrialists. Ecopolis is a vivid example of production, which has set up a full cycle of electronic waste recycling: from the collection stage to obtaining recyclable materials. At the same time, the company regularly organizes various social events. Last weekend in Rostokino district every resident was free to hand in their unwanted equipment. As a result more than a ton of electronic waste was collected," - said Alexander Prokhorov. The event was supported by the district administration, as well as local environmental activists and volunteers. The cases of monitors, printers, phones and other gadgets will turn into plastic granules and return into production as a recycled material. It is produced at one of the corporation's plants - PC Ecoplast, which is a tenant of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow. "The capacity of the plant at the site Pechatniki allows producing up to 14 thousand tons of recycled plastics per year. There is also a permanent reception point for household appliances. On the whole Ecopolis Corporation technologies allow to return to the economy up to 95 percent of all components of electronic and electrical equipment waste as secondary raw materials," – pointed out Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. Ecopolis Corporation is convinced that every inhabitant of the megapolis affects urban ecology in one way or another. "In Russia, according to expert estimates, the population accounts for about 70 percent of all electronic and electrical equipment waste. We consider such joint actions with the district administrations not only as an opportunity to reduce the amount of hazardous waste in the city landfills, but also as a tool to form an understanding of Muscovites the importance and necessity of ecological disposal of equipment. After all, improving the environmental situation in any country begins with a change in the mentality of its inhabitants, "- said the Deputy Director General of Ecopolis Corporation Ekaterina Radionova. ---------------------- Press service of the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" Phone: +7 916 516-15-46 Mail: pr@technomoscow.ru [ mailto:pr@technomoscow.ru ] Subscribe to the SEZ "Technopolis Moscow" in social networks, follow the main news of the SEZ in telegram-channel [ https://t.me/technopolismoscow ]  and receive all the most important news delivered to your mail in our weekly newsletter [ http://events.technomoscow.ru/subscribe/?utm_source=site_technomoscow ] .
