16 companies from the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow applied for the Best Industrial Design of Russia award. Some of them presented several developments at once. This was reported by the head of the Department of investment and industrial policy, which is part of the Complex of economic policy and property and land relations of the capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky. "The award is aimed at popularization of industrial design among manufacturing enterprises in Russia, as well as at drawing attention to the domestic visual culture and supporting achievements in this field. 16 enterprises from the SEZ Technopolis Moscow applied for the award. They submitted their products for participation in four categories at once, such as Electronic Device, High-Tech, Urban Design, Footwear, - said Vladislav Ovchinsky. For example, the ArtTech product entered for the award was the ArtTechEvolution racing car. The best composite materials were used in its manufacture, and modern computer modeling programs were used in its development. "The prize is presented in three nominations - a design product, a design prototype, and the Audience Award. In the first one it is necessary to demonstrate a finished original product, and in the nomination design-prototype a prototype is enough. The range of categories for participating products is very wide and includes hi-tech, electronic devices, vehicles, urban design, as well as a number of others," said Gennady Dyogtev, Director General of SEZ Technopolis Moscow about the terms of the award. Some teams of authors from the special economic zone of the capital nominated several products for the contest at once. For example, Elektroinvest, a resident company based at the Alabushevo site, presented three products at once in the Electronic Device category. The vibration therapy device ElIn-Med is designed for recovery in orthopedic, neurological and congenital anomalies of the human body. And two others - secondary power supply sources SPN and SPNI - are designed for use as part of radio electronic and other equipment and serve to convert the mains voltage. "For the award we presented an optical electronic current transformer meter. Its design is largely dictated by the purposes for which it was created and the operating conditions. We care about the reliability and functionality of the product, as well as the safety of personnel when using our products. The design of the device and its individual elements is subordinated to the achievement of these goals," said Oleg Rudakov, General Director of Profotek. The award was organized by the Moscow City Government. It is held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Authors and author's collectives, as well as legal entities registered on the territory of Russia take part. Specialists will evaluate furniture and interior items, electrical devices, vehicles, urban design objects, household chemicals, food packaging, high-tech design and footwear in two nominations: Design Product and Design Prototype. The winner in the Audience Award category will be determined by popular vote - the form for participation is available on the portal and will last until August 13, 2023 inclusive. The winners will be able to place a special laureate's sign on their products.
