Angstrem was established in June 1963 as a pilot plant in conjunction with the Research Institute of Precision Technology. New microelectronics production technologies were being developed at Angstrem, as well as experimental batches of new microchips were being produced. The debugged production technology was then transferred to other enterprises of the USSR and Eastern European countries. Angstrem serially produced personal computers, microcalculators, electronic watches and toys in millions of pieces per month. Every child in the USSR knew the game "Well, wait!", every engineer used computer technology and Angstrem microcalculators in his work.
