Nanotechnology center of composites delivered materials to strengthen the structures of the unique shopping center Almaly in Kazakhstan for the first time, the distinctive features of which is the underground location in the seismic activity zone, the press service of the capital's Department of investment and industrial policy said on Wednesday.
"The reinforced concrete structures of the shopping center have been successfully strengthened with the help of an external reinforcement system CarbonWrap produced by the resident company of the special economic zone of Moscow - Nanotechnology center of composites, - the press service said.
It is specified that the use of such system made it possible to carry out reconstruction without the use of heavy equipment and without welding, which is critical in the conditions of work in a limited space of the underground structure.
The center has been producing the external reinforcement system since 2012. It is intended for repair and strengthening of building structures with the aim of eliminating the consequences of the destruction of concrete and corrosion of reinforcement.
