A CAPITAL ENTERPRISE MODERNIZES THE OPERATION OF DISPOSAL FACILITIES IN IVANOVO
Moscow research and production company VDK, operating
on the territory of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow, supplies the disposal
facilities of the Ivanovo water utility with equipment of its own design to
optimize the operation of the biological wastewater treatment system. The
company also carried out commissioning of the first stage of biological
wastewater treatment facilities at the water disposal plant in the Ivanovo
region as part of the joint project of the Ministry of Construction of Russia
and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) “Reform of
housing and communal services in Russia”.
According to Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of investment and
industrial policy of Moscow modernized wastewater treatment facilities are
equipped in accordance with stringent environmental requirements and modern
standards for sewage treatment plants.
“Commissioning work was carried out from March to June and did not stop
even during the pandemic. As a result, the key effluent indicators for
nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorus content were brought in line with the most
stringent discharge standards for fishery facilities. The total investment in
the project has already exceeded 1.7 billion rubles”, said Alexander Prokhorov.
The capital company VDK operates on the territory of the special economic
zone Technopolis Moscow and specializes in the development and production of
devices for the petrochemical and manufacturing industries, as well as water treatment
systems
“Over the years, VDK has taken part in projects in all constituent entities
of the Russian Federation. Its equipment is operated by over a hundred
enterprises, including the leading backbone companies of the country. Highly
efficient production technologies allow its products to compete with foreign
manufacturers of similar equipment”, underlined Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ
Technopolis Moscow.
Works in Ivanovo are carried out under the Fund for Investment Construction
Projects of St. Petersburg.
At present, a biological treatment unit and a wastewater post-treatment
system are being built at the sewerage treatment facilities. The general
contractor is TAHAL Consulting Engineers Ltd.
“The large-scale
reconstruction will result in modern and high-tech sewerage facilities capable
of deep purification of effluents in accordance with all applicable regulations
and standards of Russian legislation. That will increase the reliability of the
city's sewerage system, significantly improve the ecological situation in the
entire region, reduce the pollution of the Uvod River, which is part of the
Volga River basin”, informed Alexander Morozov, CEO of Vodokanal JSC in
Ivanovo.
