THE REPUBLIC OF SAKHA RECEIVES TRANSPORT CARDS FROM THE TENANT OF SEZ TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW
More than 100 thousand RFID travel cards will be delivered to Yakutsk by the tenant of special economic zone Technopolis Moscow. These travel cards will be working within a local transport net developed by the largest integrator R-line.
The solutions developed and introduced to the market on the territory of SEZ Technopolis Moscow are in demand not only in the capital city but in other regions of Russia as well, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow.
“The company Mikron has been a tenant of SEZ for almost five years During this time one of the leading developments of the company – travel cards with touchless payment system – has proved itself to be useful in large cities of Russia. These are such cards as Troyka and Edinaya, tickets to Aeroexpress, speed trains like Rex, Lastochka to Sochi as well as transport systems of Istanbul. RFID solutions developed in SEZ Technopolis Moscow not simply gear up city transport due to easy payment of fares but also create a transparent mechanism of travel privileges and raise tax payments to the local budget”, informed Gennady Degtev.
The joint work on the development of regional transport infrastructures together with Mikron started in 2008. The company became one of the first suppliers of RFID cards and today remains a reliable domestic producer of electronic tickets, pointed out Nikolay Obukhov, Commercial Director of R-line Ltd.
“Through this period we have delivered 1.7 million touchless tickets to several regional transport projects. The use of totally domestic products minimize the risks and ensures appropriate value-for-money balance”, Nikolay Obukhov added.
The automated system of fares payment with touchless tickets is a part of “smart city” infrastructure. As a rule the shift to RFID tickets reduces to zero the possibility of fraud with transport documents, simplifies the passenger count and provides comfort for commuters. This data helps to arrange the work of all routes and to plan the development of transport net leading to better work of public transport in general, shared her opinion Tatyana Semenova, CEO of Mikron Security Printing Ltd.
“In the Republic of Sakha the touchless payment system for public transport was introduced in 2016, in total the company has delivered to the region more than one million paper RFID tickets with different tariffs”, clarified Tatyana Semenova.
For ten years the company Mikron has provided Russian and foreign transport systems with touchless tickets in different form-factors. The microchips for transport solutions are domestic products of the first level ensuring the lack of undocumented features in them. This successful experience is spread nationwide as well as globally by Mikron Center of Competence MSP Ltd. The number of Mikron RFID tickets for different types of transport has already exceeded 3.2 billion.
