RESIDENT INVESTMENT INCREASED BY A THIRD IN 2020 IN SEZ TECHNOPOLIS MOSCOW
The volume of investments of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow in 2020 exceeded 8.9 billion rubles. This is 35% more than in 2019, said Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs.
“In 2020, residents of SEZ Technopolis Moscow invested 8.9 billion rubles in the development of the capital's economy. This is 35% more than a year earlier, when the volume of investments amounted to 6.6 billion rubles. At the end of 2020, the total volume of all investments of residents over the entire existence of the Moscow SEZ has already exceeded 37.5 billion rubles, ”said Vice-Mayor
Last year manufacturers of medicines, medical devices and equipment invested more than five billion rubles.
“The volume of investments by manufacturers of medicines, medical devices and equipment in 2020 amounted to 5.02 billion rubles. On the territory of the capital's SEZ, enterprises develop their sites for the production of drugs against cancer, neuropsychiatric disorders, cardiological disorders, products for osmotic patients, ”said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow.
According to Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow, microelectronics enterprises are also among the leaders of investment.
“In 2020, they invested a total of 2.7 billion rubles. The enterprises are engaged in the production of microcircuits, chips, power modules, optical transformers and robotic systems, ”he added.
The positive dynamics of investments is provided by comfortable business conditions for the residents of SEZ Technopolis Moscow . Resident status allows businesses to save on taxes and other mandatory payments annually. The preferences received by the company open up access to duty-free imports, a zero rate of property and transport tax, as well as a preferential rate on profits.
